The strike of junior doctors at AMU’s JN Medical College in protest against the rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata ended on the tenth day on the evening of 22 August. From today, 23 August, all services including OPD, ultrasound, operations will be restored as before, which will provide great relief to patients and their attendants.

Medical Superintendent of JN Medical College Dr. Wasim said that after the announcement of the end of the strike, the junior doctors have returned to work. All services will be as usual from 23 August. Earlier, due to the strike, the patients who reached the OPD on the morning of 22 August had to return. On normal days, about four thousand patients visit the OPD. These days, about 100 patients had to return due to common diseases.

Patients and caretakers are upset

Bulandshahr resident Sanjay brought Devendra, who was suffering from stomach infection, to the medical college for treatment. He had to return without treatment as there was no junior doctor in the OPD. Sajid from Sahaswan Bajpur in Aligarh brought Wasim, who was suffering from chest pain, to the medical college. He too had to return without treatment. The medical college staff said that the strike should end. Come after that.
